What specialisation can I study?

The Department of Education determines the relationship between the specialisations of the master’s degree, the teaching specialisations and the qualifications required to be able to teach a given subject.
Check your specialisation. Follow the instructions below to search.

  1. Enter your degree(s) in the search engine. Once you have found it, select it using the arrow to add it to the box on the right.

  1. Once your degree has been added, click on "Consulta (View results)" and at the bottom, the specialisations you can take with your degree will appear (in the example, Training and Career Guidance among others).

  1. Also, if you click on "Ensenyaments que teniu possibilitat d'imparti amb altres titulacions. Visualitzar combinacions", you will find additional specialisations that you can study, by complementing your degree with other requirements. You can see these requirements by clicking on the magnifying glass on the right.

Where can I study my specialisation?

  • The specialisations of the master’s degree are distributed among the different Catalan universities.
  • The University Admissions Office is responsible for the pre-enrolment process for the master’s degree for all Catalan universities that offer any of the specialisations.
  • Once the process is completed, the Office sends the universities the list of students admitted to each specialisation of the master’s degree.

Career opportunities

The professions for which graduates of this master’s degree are qualified are those of  teachers of Compulsory Secondary and Upper Secondary Education, , Vocational Training and Language Education. (ORDER ECI/3858/2007 as amended by ORDER EDU/3498/2011).

This master’s degree certifies the pedagogical and didactic training required to practice the teaching profession in public, state-subsidised and private secondary and upper secondary schools, vocational training centres and language schools. In public education, graduates may work as civil servant teachers (after passing public examinations), as interim staff or as substitute teacher.
