The Master's dissertation sums up the learning and training acquired from the educational actions carried out on the Master’s Degree and reflects the competencies of the different subjects forming part thereof.
The student will have to demonstrate the acquisition of the competencies forming part of the Master's Degree by examining a specific topic in depth. That topic must be related to secondary education teaching-learning processes.
It is important for the student to situate the topic of study for the Master's dissertation within a problem identified during the placement period, and to ensure that the realisation of the work displays:
- In-depth knowledge of the problem.
- The student’s stance in terms of how she/he addresses it.
- The design of a teaching innovation proposal for the classroom, the aim of which is to present possible lines of action in the classroom in order to work on and address the problem studied.
The Master’s dissertation and its presentation must make it clear that the competencies of the Master’s Degree have been attained. The work topic and plan will be agreed in all cases with the Master’s dissertation tutor.

- To identify and plan the resolution of educational situations affecting students with different abilities and paces of learning.
- To know and apply innovative teaching proposals in the field of the specialisation studied.
- To critically analyse the fulfilment of teaching, of good practices practical and of guidance using quality indicators.
- To identify problems relating to the teaching and learning of specialisation subjects and propose alternatives and solutions.
- To know and apply basic educational research and evaluation methodologies and techniques, and be able to design and develop research, innovation and evaluation projects.
- To take part in proposals for improvement in various action areas by drawing on practise-based reflection.
In the evaluation of the Master’s dissertation, the following will be considered: attendance at tutoring, the written quality of the project, and the public presentation and defence thereof.

Percentage of the aspects to be evaluated:
- Tutor: 35% (20% tutoring sessions and process documents, and 15% of the final document)
- Examination panel - Written production: 50%
- Examination panel - Public defence before the committee: 15%
- Discussion and guidance seminars for the accomplishment of the Master’s dissertation with the Master’s dissertation tutor.
- Individualised tutoring: for the purpose of establishing the topic, guiding the work and dealing with the project’s development.
- The student’s autonomous work.
- Public defence of the Master’s dissertation.
- Specific knowledge of the formative stages addressed by the Master’s Degree specialisation.
- Teaching innovation.
- Secondary education teaching-learning processes.
- Didactic and organisational aspects inherent to teaching and learning subjects in the secondary education stages.
- Evolutionary and sociological characteristics of the students.
